Second Hand Parts

Spare parts are a huge investment and ALTSES can provide most parts second hand or refurbished. These parts usually start with pricing of approximately 45% of the OEM pricing.

and applications

preventive maintenance

All major PM’s—semiannual and annual. Upon request any interval can be provided

cosmetic services

Stains and any kind of deposits, corroded parts, and handling optimization are all considered cosmetic work. Cosmetic work is work that is not really necessary to perform a process, although it makes the wafer handling saver, and it will cut “down-time” and increase the longevity of the machine. Handling intolerances, which most likely show problems intermittently, are the main reason for instability, uncontrollable down time and broken wafers. The handling is the most critical area on SEZ systems and should be checked by an outside party, not an internal maintenance engineer. Another reason for cosmetic work would be an upcoming critical audit.

Refurbishments and/or system evaluation

Full and modular refurbishment is available. Full refurbishment means the entire system including the CDS will be disassembled, Components will be repaired or replaced-depending on the urgency. Deep cleaning and stain removals as possible. After reassembly the system will be re-calibrated and an entire handlings adjustment will be performed. A marathon test ran with DI water will be done prior to releasing the system back to the customer. Usually a full refurbishment will be done after the system has been removed from the customer site and delivered to ALTSES. There are limited circumstances under which full refurbishments can be done on-site, although these would be exception cases that would be pending prior discussion. Modular refurbishment is most likely when after evaluating which modules need refurbishment, the affected modules will be removed and taken back to ALTSES and refurbishment will be completed there. After the limited tests release the module, it will be reinstalled and adjusted properly. After final tests, the modules will be under close watch for another week, before fully returning them to the customer. Again, a limited service can be completed on-site. Full or modular refurbishment starts with a full system evaluation.

Upgrades and conversions

Converting the entire system from one wafer size to another including assurance that the optimized and secure wafer handling and processing follows. Changes from one handling type to another (standard to Bernoulli, Pin-less to pin-chuck, standard indexer to SMIF box…) Additions or reductions of chemical modules, implementation of different fill stations or mix modules, computer upgrades to a newer type, as well as total back-ups and outside secure storage of data.

Special Customer requests in design and Engineering

Any design change from a customer will be revised and discussed to achieve the highest efficiency. Every request will be considered as a high level need. The customer has a need for change and we will not over-discuss the item or drop it because it seems unimportant. There was enough time spent in coming up with the request and that will be accepted, not argued. The modifications will be made and all special requests considered.

Independent third party consulting services for buying/selling used systems

Not everybody knows the SEZ systems as well as we do. Many vendors or sellers including the original manufacturing company are taking advantage of that. ALTSES provides special offers with different levels of consulting services to determine the best pricing for the status of the system and process related demands. ALTSES provides consulting without further commitments for the customer.

relocations

System relocation can be provided anywhere from full to partial service. A full service would begin at the location by emptying and decontamination, dismantling, then moving away from and to the new position, installing, starting up, performing leak tests, introducing chemistry into the system, adjusting all parameters to the desired process and optimizing with the process parameters.

Alternatives to OEM

The OEMs are very strict with parts and designs. ALTSES will provide alternatives and keep customers informed of changes and improvements (alternative chemical delivery systems…), which will also include cost comparisons.

technical support and repair

Phone support is complementary up to the duration of one hour. Other conditions need to be discussed. On-site support includes trouble shooting, repairing mechanics, and electronic components. Software support can be provided as far as no violations of the OEM regulations occur, although alternatives will be offered. Broken parts can be repaired or replaced, depending on which is more beneficial for the customer in terms of costs and time. Most parts can be replaced down to its components (circuit-boards). Any down-situation will be taken care of as quickly as possible. Training for the customer can be provided as well (all levels).
